There's something so precious (to me) about rising a tad earlier each morning to create this hot cup of magic.
I sit on my front porch with the intention to take each sip slowly, sweetly, while simultaneously soaking up the birdsong and fresh air from Mumma nature herself.
It's become quite the ritual for me and has been a powerful tool for grounding energetically and physically before I begin my day (which is often giving, contributing and expending tons of energy).
The story goes that Raw Cacao is an ancient plant medicine that has been used for centuries to heal the mental, physical and spiritual body. It's used as a creativity enhancer, energy booster (it's naturally packed with caffeine), and facilitator of deep inner connection.
Sometimes I will sip and journal and sometimes I will sip and be still. A ritual truly is whatever the moment calls for, which comes to you through your own desires and inspiration. Let the moment speak to you, no fancy fluff required.
Whether you're into Cacao or not, let this be a beautiful invitation to start your day on your terms, grounded, inspired, and still.
This recipe is my all-time favourite. When I cook/create I'm always looking for ways to double down on all the health benefits and hence the addition of the mushie powder and collagen hydrolysate.
1-2 Tbsp Organic Cacao (Try this)
1/4 Tsp Mushie Powder (I use Bareblends)
1-2 Tbsp Collagen (I use Gelpro Collagen Hydrolysate)
1-2 Tsp Pure Vanilla Extract or Paste 1-2 Tsp Organic Coconut Sugar
1-2 Cups Organic Coconut or Almond Milk (I use half of each)
Heat coconut and/or almond milk in a small saucepan on the stove, add ingredients above, stir and serve. No fancy required.
Enjoy, beautiful human! (don't forget to tag me in your cacao rituals ;))
